ECTRIMS hosts the world’s largest annual international conference devoted to basic and clinical research and care in multiple sclerosis. The Annual Congress offers a host of educational sessions, plenary lectures, posters and young investigator sessions, as well as meet-the-expert opportunities.

ECTRIMS 2022
The 38th Congress of ECTRIMS took place on 26-28 October in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. More than 8,700 participants from over 100 countries and more than 200 speakers attended. The event was hybrid, on-site and online, with participants enjoying scientific, hot topic and educational sessions, as well as selected free communications, young investigator sessions, guided e-Poster sessions and meet-the-expert sessions.
Congress Reports
The ECTRIMS 2022 Congress Report features sessions hand-selected by the local organising committee, and is divided into the congress’ four main topics: pathogenesis, clinical, therapy, and imaging and non-imaging biomarkers.
ECTRIMS 2022: For People with MS
On Saturday, 29 October 2022 at 10:30 – 13:00 CEST at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam, NL, a free, livestream event was held for people with MS to discuss key insights unveiled during ECTRIMS 2022. More than 300 people attended the event, onsite and online.

The 9th Joint ECTRIMS-ACTRIMS Meeting will be held 11-13 October 2023 in Milan, IT at the Milano Convention Centre. Full details to follow.

The 2021 Congress
The 37th Congress of ECTRIMS took place as a fully digital virtual experience on 13-15 October 2021. Some 7,000 participants from 104 countries came together virtually to share the latest updates in MS research. The event included 203 speakers and over 1,400 abstracts.
The 2021 content, including hundreds of sessions as well as speaker interviews, abstracts & more, will be made available for public access at a later time this year.
2021 Selected Highlights
A number of ECTRIMS 2021 presentations are available to the general public. These selected videos, chosen for their topical relevance this year, are among the more than 100 sessions that took place during the Annual Congress, which covered four overarching themes: Clinical Diagnosis, Imaging and Biomarkers, Therapeutics, Pathology, and Differential Diagnosis.

Congress Awards & Grants
Each year at the Annual Congress, five prizes are awarded to the best poster presentations (€1,000 each), as judged by Scientific Programme Committee. Award-winning poster authors give short presentations in the closing session of the Annual Congress.
In addition, two prizes (€1,500 each) are awarded to the two best oral presentations given by young investigators age 35 or younger.
